BAPTISM

St. Anthony welcomes all who wish to receive the Lord through the Sacrament of Baptism. Congratulations for taking this first step.

Please fill out our Baptismal Registration Form.We request that you also fill out a Parish Registration form if you have not yet done so.

Please have your two main godparents fill out the Baptismal Sponsor Form. Please keep in mind that at least one of your two main godparents must be fully initiated in the Catholic Church. What this means is that person has been baptized, received First Holy Communion and was Confirmed. Please have them supply us with a copy of their Confirmation certificate. Also, if either of the two Godparents is married, they should be married in the Catholic Church. Please refer to the sponsor form for details of the qualifications.

Once the forms are completed and returned to our office, you will be informed of the dates of the Baptism Preparation classes. Baptism classes are held on the first two Mondays of every month from 6:30pm- 8:00pm in the Church Meeting Room. Parents must attend both classes. The Godparents are required to attend the second class with you. Exception: If this is not your first child being baptized at St. Anthony, then only the second class (parents and godparents) is required.

Just for your information, you will need to select a saint's name for your child if he or she does not have one already. When you have selected a saint name, call the church office and let us know what name you have selected. It will be included on the baptismal certificate and will be put in the Baptismal register.

Beginning April 18, 2009, baptisms will be performed at the 5:00pm Mass on the 3rd Saturday of the month and at the 9:00am Mass on the 4th Sunday of each month. Call the office for dates. Exception: Parents can request the 7:00am or 5:00pm Sunday Mass.

This program is available to students in grades 5 to 11. For more information and instruction for adults, please call 242-6040.

MATRIMONY

Couples who wish to be married must begin the process of personal interviews and marriage preparation programs with a priest or deacon at least six (6) months in advance of the desired wedding date.

Our Marriage Requirements and Guidelines are intended to help prepare you for your wedding. In consultation with a priest or deacon who will preside at the wedding, the couple will choose to have either a Wedding Mass or Wedding Ceremony. The determining criteria will center on the religious background of the bride and groom, and what form of liturgy will best enable a particular wedding assembly to celebrate with them.

The couple will be provided with the book "Together for Life", which along with various prayers and blessings, contain those scripture readings most appropriate for use at weddings.

Below, please find documents and requirements in depth for local and out of state couples. We require that you fill out the form on the last page of the Marriage Requirements and Guidelines completely one month prior to your wedding.

ANNOINTING OF THE SICK

The Catholic sacrament of Anointing of the Sick, formerly known as Last Rites or Extreme Unction, is a ritual of healing appropriate not only for physical but also for mental and spiritual sickness.

We encourage those in need of or who have loved ones requiring this special blessing, not to wait until the situation is grave. It is preferable to celebrate this sacrament when the sick person has a better opportunity to appreciate the prayers and symbols of the rite when in his or her customary worshiping community.

Please call our office at 244-4148 to determine the availability of our priests.
