Tanya Barbero is the Faith Formation and Family Life Director at St. Anthony Church. She established St. Anthony’s Youth Ministry in 1984 and served as the Part-time Youth Minister until 1995. Tanya graduated from Maui Community College with a focus on Human Services and also attended Chaminade University. She has a long career in Healthcare, working at Maui Medical Group for many years and most recently as a Community Outreach Liaison at Hospice Maui.
She and her husband Lee have been active parishioners since 1980 and live in Kahului with their three children. They have been involved in ministry working with children, youth and families for over 30 years. Currently they serve as Coordinators of the Diocesan Task Force for Marriage and Family Ministry and are on the presenting team for Worldwide Marriage Encounter. When she is not working, Tanya enjoys cooking, singing and creating memories with her family and friends.
One of her favorite scripture verses is 1Cor 16: 14;
Let all that you do be done in love.
Tanya credits her love for the Lord and values of prayer, service and hospitality to watching and learning from the lived-example of her grandparents, parents, family, mentors and friends.
